Game Day Guidelines

We are committed to submitting to governing authorities including facilities’ requirements. Each fan, player, and coach must be responsible for following such protocols.
THSSBC asks all fans to please enter no earlier than 30 min before your team’s game and to leave the facility immediately after your team plays to make room for other fans. We will have a limit on the number of fans who can enter the facility depending on local requirements at the time of the event. 

•Wear a face mask properly prior to entering the facilities and keep them on inside the gym. 
•Participants in the event may remove them during physical activity.
•Individuals should self-screen prior to entering the facility for any signs of Covid and be willing to comply with facility requirements for questions about symptoms and temperature checks.
  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea 
• Teams should disinfect their equipment before and after each use. Bring your own disinfectants. 
•Wash or disinfect your hands upon entering the facilities and after any interaction. Bring your own hand sanitizers. 
Special Note: The PAC is a privately owned facility and we have just been informed that they will be very strict on the proper use of masks in their facility. They will not allow face shields, medical exemptions, Covid vaccinations or recovery from Covid as reasons for not complying with their standard. They have the right to call the police for criminal trespassing to those who refuse. We ask that everyone who attends to willingly comply so that our obedience may be a Christian testimony of our sacrificial love for others even if you do not always agree.

Bench Refreshments:

Only bottled water and sports drinks are allowed on the bench, but that is all. Please be thoughtful of the clean-up crews and the next team by putting your trash in the trash cans. Absolutely no food, candy, juice, soda or any other concession items will be allowed on the courts to prevent damage to the courts! Please inform your players in advance.

Home/Visitor Responsibilities:

Teams MUST BE COURTSIDE 30 min BEFORE their game in case games are running early.

BOTH TEAMS MUST TEXT REPORT SCORES to 210-850-3771 giving the age, gender, division of game and score (Example: 18U D1 HSAA 77, FEAST 66)

Instructions will be posted on the score tables.

Note: Teams may switch duties if needed and if both teams agree.

Home team listed 1st on schedule

  • wears white jersey
  • keeps the official scorebook
  • provides game ball and agreed upon by both coaches
  • Home coach reads appointed Scripture verses on score table

Visitor team listed 2nd on schedule

  • wears dark jersey
  • responsible for clock
  • Visitor coach to pray


Be Kind to Referees! 

Coaches, please direct your fans and your players to never argue with a referee. Instruct your players to thank the referees after each game. Referees are human and we need to treat them with respect even if in your opinion they blow a call. Any players, fans or coaches ejected from a game will be suspended for the remainder of that game and possibly the entire tournament.
Officials have the right to remove coaches, players or parents from a game. If anyone is ejected from a game, it is the tournament committee’s discretion whether the participant or coach will continue in the tournament based on the seriousness of the offense(s).

Pre-game — 5 minutes (no less)
Halftime Break – 3 minutes
Timeouts – (2) Full (2) 30-second 
(Championship games: (3) Full (2) 30-second)

Overtime – 2 minutes & 1 additional 30-second Additional OT are 1 minute and no more timeouts

Mercy Rule: Running clock in 4th quarter with at least a 20 point lead; normal clock resumes once lead is back to 15 points or less;Coaches may agree to continuous running clock prior to 4th quarter. 

*No running clock in Championship games.
